A new Innovation Hub by Fervo, an Italian company specializing in advanced and sustainable real-estate asset management, has opened in Nova Milanese, on the outskirts of Milan, in the heart of one of Lombardy’s most industrialized areas. The Hub will be inaugurated on Thursday, 27 November at 3:30 p.m. with a conference attended by experts, institutional representatives and figures from the business community.
The aim of the new space is to accelerate and implement innovation to make the real estate more sustainable, fostering connections between industry, institutions and research, while engaging companies, universities, schools and professionals in training programs and innovation labs open to the local community and the national system.
According to the European Commission, buildings are responsible for 40% of energy consumption and around 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union. In the Po Valley, one of the most densely-packed manufacturing regions in Europe, the levels of carbon dioxide and other climate-changing gases are among the highest on the continent, according to the European Environment Agency. These data underline the urgency of adopting effective and scalable models to reduce the carbon footprint.
The Innovation Hub covers about 460 square meters and integrates immersive technologies (VR, AR and MR), digital twins and latest-generation digital devices for low-emission buildings, aimed at making the development of Real Estate more sustainable. The investment, in excess of 500,000 euros, is part of Fervo's digitalization roadmap, which goes, for example, from the FEAMS platform for integrated and predictive building management to participation in carbon neutral building projects, such as Open 336 in the Bicocca district of Milan, where cutting-edge solutions such as Eco2Air, a CO₂ capture system installed directly in air handling units (AHUs), are already adopted.
During the inauguration conference, the following will speak: Marco Grazioli, chairman of The European House – Ambrosetti; Fabrizio Sala, MP and member of the Finance Committee; Riccardo Fraccaro, former Minister for Relations with Parliament; as well as Fervo'stop management Alessandro Belloni, CEO, Rocco Ruggiero, COO,and Stefano Tascone, Innovation& Digital Transformation Director.
"The Innovation Hub – say Alessandro Belloni and Rocco Ruggiero – represents a further concrete step in the path of digitization and sustainability that we have been pursuing for years. It is a space where innovation becomes tangible through the exchange between companies, institutions, and research, with the aim of creating real and measurable value for the local area within the broader national context.”
"We are pleased – say Fabrizio Pagani and Rossella Nigro, Nova Milanese mayor and councilor for Commerce, Productive Activities, and Ecology, respectively, who will open the conference – that our city hosts a project that looks to the future and strengthens the link between business, community and innovation. This initiative is a resource for the whole area, which is integrated into the national context and contributes to generating knowledge and sustainable development."
